4Ever Fit is a sport nutrition brand featuring the fruit blast line of whey proteins as well as a large range of sport supplements like creatine, caffeine, ephedrine and amino acids. This was the first site I build for GFR Pharma, it operates as a full ecommerce site based on the open source magento platform.
The magento templating system is a little more complex than say wordpress of concrete5 and takes a while to get used to. I’d say it is definately designed for developers, specifically developers employed by Varien the company that makes magento. The documentation is pretty terrible and some of the features which appear to be broken are actually available in the paid version, which is fine if they actually told you this. There are some useful addons for magento including a free store locator which I used on this site. It is a little nicer than the free wordpress store locator in terms of functions and actual UI.
Of note is magento’s ability to run multiple domains/stores off of one install, pretty handy for web retailers who like to make niche sites. I’ve looked at other free ecommerce solutions and even with some of magento’s short comings it is still one of the best.
